I recently was selected as one of the California Community Foundation fellows of 2012, I am honored to be able to receive this opportunity.
My art and community collaborations illustrate my journey of self discovery and illuminate the rich narrative of my Boyle Heights community. From barrio walls to the canvas, I use my art as a vehicle to communicate, educate and touch people. I believe my art helps create spaces and forums for expression that can affect change. I want to enrich and beautify my community and enhance awareness, healing and hope in all who, like myself, have been denied free expression because of poverty, social injustice and incarceration.
